The objectives of the Puerto Rico Space Grant Fellowships and Scholarships Program are:
– Attract, recruit and train U.S. citizens, especially women, underrepresented minorities, and persons with disabilities, for careers in aerospace science and technology.
– Create opportunities that enable student contributions to the development of solutions addressing NASA Mission Directorate challenges.
Requirements:
– U.S. citizenship (evidence will be required if selected)
– Enrolled in a STEM ( science, technology, engineering and mathematics) undergraduate or graduate program in Puerto Rico.
– A minimum of 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale
– Academic progress according to schedule
– Research Plan (3-5 pages) signed by applicant and research advisor. The Research Plan must contain the following parts:
a) Title and Summary
b) Goals and Objectives
c) Relevance to NASA according to the NASA Technology Taxonomy
d) Rationale
e) Work Plan
f) Collaboration(s) with NASA Center(s) and NASA Mission Directorate(s)
g) Milestones and Timeline for Aug 2022 – May 2023
h) References Cited
– Curriculum Vitae (1-2 pages) including peer-reviewed publications, proceedings, and presentations in local, national, and international conferences
– Two letters of recommendation (one from the research advisor/mentor)
Academic Year Stipend (August 2022 – May 2023):
Doctoral $1,700 per month
Master’s $1,200 per month
Bachelor’s $800 per month
Tuition Assistance:
$1,500 for Doctoral and Master’s Students (per semester)
